Free Training – Electric Vehicle Charging Points

Free Training – Electric Vehicle Charging Points

DateMonday 12th June 2023

TESP is working with City & Guilds and Shell on a project to provide free training in the new C&G Electric Vehicle Charging Point qualifications for recently qualified electricians, completed apprentices or those who have completed the Experienced Worker Assessment or Level 3 NVQ.

Initially we are seeking nominations for a pilot, which if successful will be extended. Shell has selected SouthBank College in London for the pilot and there will be 12 places available.

The offer is:

  • up to 5 days’ face-to-face training at the college, covering the content and assessment preparation leading to the following City & Guilds Electric Vehicle Charging Installation qualifications:
    • 2921-31 Design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging installations;
    • 2921-33 Installation and maintenance of large scale electric vehicle charging installations.
  • 1-2 days of assessments for the above qualifications (1 day for each qualification). Assessments will take place at least 3 days after the training to allow for revision etc.
  • Learner support materials including the BS 7671: 18th Edition Wiring regulations and the Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation, 4th edition.

Candidates can apply for one or both qualifications. The training would take place during week of July 3-7, with assessments on 12-13 July.

This is a great opportunity to build the population of electricians qualified in EVCP installation. If you’re interested in taking part please email TESP on info@the-esp.org.uk with your name, email address and which course/s are of interest.
